How DPD Smiles generated 268K impressions from patient moments
DPD Smiles shortened the patient-photo consent process and gave families an easy way to recommend the practice.
The challenge
Patient photos could drive referrals, but the process took too long
DPD Smiles knew that recommendations from parents could help a young pediatric practice grow. Patient photos were a natural way to show the clinic’s personality, but collecting consent manually could take 15 to 20 minutes.
That made a promising referral channel difficult to use consistently. The team needed a faster process that respected patient consent and did not pull staff away from care.
“The process to get consent to use the photos usually takes 15–20 minutes.”
The approach
Consent, delivery, and sharing became one clear flow.
Families used BuzzyBooth to create a branded photo or video, provide the required information, and receive the media on their phone. The clinic no longer had to manage the photo handoff one family at a time.
Shared photos carried DPD Smiles into parents’ personal networks, while automated review requests followed the same positive moment.
- A parent chose to create a branded photo or video.
- The family completed the consent and delivery flow.
- Their post introduced DPD Smiles to people they already knew.

The results
The referral showed up in the comments.
In the first month, patients took 150 photos and generated more than 14,000 impressions. Over the following months, DPD Smiles collected more than 1,350 contacts and recorded more than 740 shares.
Those shares produced 268,532 social impressions. The source story also documents a friend asking for a recommendation directly beneath a patient’s post—the referral behavior the practice wanted to make easier.
From the team
